The movie is about Sherlock Holmes, his assistant Watson and their adventure to find out the mystery behind the death and resurrection of Lord Blackwood. The movie flows through a lot of scenes between the two heroes as Watson wants to move ahead with life and get settled. Sherlock, on the other hand, can’t help from being torn between the thought of leaving his long time friend and his only love, a world class thief. Inactivity makes him brood over things and this case comes as a last chance for him to return to saneness and to keep his love and friend.
The story could have been a bit more wonderful, which a more popular choice of Sherlock case. The story catch explanation at the last seemed a little too fast for it to sink in all the people.
The two fight scene in which he calculates the punches and the effects and then applies it is shot wonderfully. The two scenes a big difference to the whole technicality point of the movie. The blast scene is also wonderfully captured with the random explosions. The music doesn’t stand out much in the movie. Another thing that feels differently is how Sherlock is seen getting into physical confrontations which, if I remember correctly, is different from the series.
Robert Downey Jr. and Jude law form a great pair in the movie with Rachel just spicing up the scenes. The villain mark strong also plays a good role in keeping up with the suspense.
The director did a justifiable job with the script, mainly with the effects and the fight scenes. But he failed to keep the audience in suspense till the end and was more interested in creating an opening for the next movie in the series (if there be ever one).
Audience was restless by the interval, and i think i heard "yeh kya baja raha hey yaar". By the end, the reception was silent with people simply leaving without even one single clap placed (May be Bangalore's curse), including me.
So, my take on the whole:
Story –fast and furious, dumb and dumber
Action sequence –B E A utiful
Acting – Classic
PS: since British accent, better to watch with subtitles.
